One Of The Alpine Chamois Hunts We Organized
All inclusive, no limit trophy size alpine chamois hunt.
Hunts take place in the Alps mountain range, where elevations commonly range from 1,200 to over 2,500 meters.
While the pace is adapted to each hunter, a reasonable level of physical fitness will greatly improve both comfort and success during the hunt.
The terrain is often open, allowing animals to spot movement from great distances, which is one of the reasons long shots are common. Reaching a mature chamois frequently requires careful glassing, long stalks across exposed mountainsides, and climbs over demanding terrain.
Why hunt Alpine Chamois?
Artemis Hunting organizes alpine chamois hunts in Slovenia. Hunting them in the Julian Alps of Slovenia is authentic as it gets, alpine chamois can also be hunted on New Zealand. The minimum caliber to use for hunting alpine chamois is 6,5 Creedmoor. Because they are very tough animals, especially during the rut, which is in November. The best is to shoot them, aiming for the heart and lungs but placed so the bullet also breaks a bone (either shoulder or leg) on the way through; this anchors them on the spot, since even if the shot doesn’t drop them instantly, the broken bone means they can’t run far. Guests usually combine alpine chamois and mouflon sheep or Balkan chamois hunts. Sometimes it is combined with alpine ibex hunting.
Since 2006, Artemis Hunting has established itself as one of the premier hunting travel agencies in Europe and Asia. We have organized hunting trips for more than 20 years. Lucas Micallef (President of Federation for Hunting & Conservation Malta) and Craig Coote (director of Tier-One) are some of the hunting personalities that chose us to organize their alpine chamois hunting trip.
Artemis Hunting team is here to support you every step of the way!
Artemis Hunting is always at full service to our guests, before, during and after the hunt! We will help you prepare for the hunt, communicate with you the expecations you have of the hunt, specifics of the hunting ground you are going to…
Before the hunt, we’ll take a few practice shots, and the Artemis Hunting team will show you exactly how to use our rifles and optics. Available rifles
We have all sorts of rifles: Blaser, Sauer, Hardy, Christensen, Howa, etc. Basically for every type of hunting. Some of the calibers we have are .300 Win. Mag., .30-06, .308 Win., 6,5 Creedmoor etc. We also have muzzle breaks on most of our rifles, so even with bigger calibers there isn’t a big recoil.
